The Oklahoma Student Art Exhibition is sponsored in part by
The Oklahoma Student Art Exhibition is a juried art show open to all Oklahoma students grades PreK-12. This year we have a new section for developmentally challenged students. We are also pleased to announce Hobby Lobby as a sponsor for the 2013 Oklahoma Student Art Exhibition.
Participating schools submit student artwork and each year distinguished jurors examine each piece entered in the competition. Hundreds of juror-selected pieces are exhibited during the 11-day run of the Oklahoma State Fair. In addition to this great display opportunity, students can win individual honors and the top schools will be awarded Hobby Lobby gift certificates for future art supply purchases. The exhibition is FREE to enter and a great way to showcase student work!
Online registration for the 2013 Student Art Exhibition is now available!

Each year the Oklahoma State Fair awards hundreds of ribbons to winning competitors. Occasionally, the staff has a big problem on its hands – tons of left over ribbons! Because we don’t want these ribbons to go to waste, we began the Ribbon Recycle Challenge program – an optional component of the Student Art Exhibition. Participating schools receive big packets of surplus ribbons and use them to create unique works of art while practicing the principle of “reduce, reuse, recycle.” In the past this contest has only been open to elementary and middle schools, but in 2012 we opened a high school division. All schools participating in the 2013 Oklahoma Student Art Exhibition are invited to participate in the Ribbon Recycle Challenge. 2013 Ribbon Recycle Challenge Rules

In 2012, we had a total of 1,136 individual entries from 68 Oklahoma schools. Of these individual entries, 878 were selected to be shown in the 2012 Oklahoma Student Art Exhibition. From the 878 selected for the show, 371 Merit Distinctions were awarded to individual students. We would like to commend all students whose art was submitted and thank all participating schools, teachers, and parents. 13 of the participating schools were awarded Overall Merit, and will be awarded art supply gift certificates.
The official opening of the 2012 Oklahoma Student Art Exhibition will be September 13. The Awards Ceremony and the presentation of catalogs and special awards will be held Saturday, September 15th, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Capital City Theatre.
