THE OKIE KARAOKE CONTEST!

Singing sensations abound in Oklahoma, so what better place to hold the “Okie Karaoke Star” contest than at the Oklahoma State Fair! Clear Channel wants to find one true Okie Karaoke Star among some real quality talent. Each day of the fair, station personalities will broadcast all day to encourage listeners to come to the Fair to compete for their chance to be the next Okie Karaoke Star. Stay tuned for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes… Sign up begins at 6:00 p.m., contest starts at 7:00 p.m. Must be 18 years of age or older to participate. Okie Karaoke Finals start at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 27th. Bring your best pipes or come cheer on a friend!

This quartet of cut-up cowboys fires off a laugh-a-minute load of funny one-liners, silly sight gags and crack-up cornball comedy. The comic cowboys of “SHENANIGUNS!” are professional comedy entertainers performing original, family-friendly and truly funny comedy shows for laughing audiences across the USA.

The 2009 Oklahoma State Fair welcomes a new musical act for the Centennial Frontier Experience. Southbound Mule has been brightening the lives of Bluegrass fans in the southwest for the past four years with their high-energy performances, tight harmonies and instrumental virtuosity.

Playing an enjoyable mix of old favorites and new standards - everything from traditional Bill Monroe to modern Vince Gill, plus a sprinkling of the unexpected, Southbound Mule will put a smile on your face and a tap in your foot. The five members – TJ Wesnidge, Doug Stafford, Darrel Carender, Verlon Stidham and Joe Peach – bring over a century of collective Bluegrass experience to the stage. So strap on your ‘mule ears’ and enjoy some of the best Bluegrass this side of the Red River!

New for 2009, this group of Artisan Blacksmiths will enlighten Fairgoers about the art and skill of blacksmithing. Although earlier day Blacksmiths forged items out of necessity, today's blacksmiths are using those same skills to make everything from tools and decorative pieces to jewelry.
